Last night, I (sort of) watched the pre-season game between the Packers and the Raiders that was played in Winnipeg. I really don't know what to think.

Listening to the broadcast crew, it seems that the folks at Investors Group Field did a really poor job of configuring the field for the game, leaving the league no choice but to make up some special rules such as limiting the field length to 80 yards, and eliminating kickoffs. The yard markers were confusing at best, with one end zone starting at the 20 yard line. That had to be confusing for both the players, officials, and the fans. It looked terrible on television, and led to a never ending stream of jokes by the broadcast crew.

I have to say that I was disappointed all around. Disappointed with the effort on the part of the Investors Group Field personnel in providing a properly configured venue for the game, and equally disappointed with the broadcast crew for their lack of class in making a joke about it at every opportunity. In spite of all of that, the teams and the players provided an entertaining game, which unfortunately seemed to be lost in the overall spectacle.
